En8m Steel

En8m Steel

EN8M steel (212M36) is a through hardening carbon manganese free-cutting steel, usually supplied untreated. En8m steel has  good tensile strength and is often used in gears, shafts, stressed pins, studs, bolts, keys etc.

EN8M steel is a free-machining grade and is readily machinable in any condition. It can be further surface-hardened to produce components with enhanced wear resistance, typically to 50-55 HRC through induction processes.

Closely related grades include EN8DM (212A42)

We can provide you En8m steel in the following size range:-

  1. Round Black from sizes 23.5mm to 80mm
  2. Bright Bar from sizes 22mm to 63.5mm
  3. Hexagons Black from 23.5mm to 38mm
  4. Hexagon Bright bar from 22mm to 36mm
