MACHINED COMPONENTS

Premium Steel Supply for Machined Components: Black & Bright Bar Solutions

In the competitive world of machined component manufacturing, material selection is the first step toward precision. Whether you are producing high-volume fasteners on Swiss-type automata or heavy-duty gears on CNC turning centers, the quality of your raw material dictates your cycle times and tool life.

At Ambhe Ferro Metal, we specialize in supplying high-performance steel specifically tailored for the machined components industry. We understand that manufacturers require materials that offer consistent hardness, superior machinability, and precise dimensional tolerances.

Tailored Solutions: Hot Rolled vs. Bright Bars

We cater to the diverse processing needs of component manufacturers by offering steel in two primary conditions:

  • Bright Bars (Cold Finished): Ideal for CNC machining, automatic screw machines, and precision turning. Our bright bars (Cold Drawn, Peeled, or Ground) offer a scale-free surface and tight tolerances (h9, h11), eliminating the need for pre-turning and significantly reducing processing time.

  • Black Bars (Hot Rolled): The cost-effective choice for components that will undergo forging or heavy rough machining where initial surface finish is secondary to internal structural integrity.

Our Grade Portfolio for the Machining Industry

We stock a vast range of sizes and grades to suit every application, from simple dowel pins to complex transmission shafts.

1. Free Cutting Steels (High Speed Machining)

  • Grades: En1a, En1a(Pb) / 12L14, En8m, En8DM

  • Application: These are the backbone of high-volume component manufacturing. The addition of Lead (Pb) or Sulphur ensures chip breaking and allows for high machining speeds with minimal tool wear. Perfect for nuts, bolts, nipples, and hydraulic fittings.

2. Carbon Steels (Strength & Versatility)

  • Grades: 1018, En3, 1045, En8d

  • Application: 1018/En3 are excellent for parts requiring carburizing or welding. 1045/En8d offer higher tensile strength and are standard for automotive shafts, studs, and general engineering parts.

3. Alloy & Case Hardening Steels (High Performance)

  • Grades: 16MnCr5, 20MnCr5, SAE 4140, 41Cr4

  • Application: Designed for critical components subject to high stress and fatigue. 16MnCr5/20MnCr5 are the industry standard for gears requiring a hard, wear-resistant surface and a tough core. SAE 4140/41Cr4 are used for high-tensile bolts, axles, and crankshafts.

Why Partner with Ambhe Ferro?

  • Vast Size Range: We maintain an extensive inventory of diameters and profiles (Rounds, Hexagons, Squares) to ensure you get the exact size you need, minimizing material wastage.

  • Consistency: Our material is sourced and processed to ensure consistent structure, reducing the risk of hard spots that damage CNC tools.
